Also known as Islas del Cisne, the Swan Islands belong to Honduras. They were 'disovered' by Christopher Columbus in 1502 and were then named Islas de las Pozas. The islands were later named after a certain pirate called Captain Swan.
They are being developed as a luxury resort and their mission according to developer Kevin Morrill is ... "To develop a very special uninhabited and undeveloped two island chain of approximately 1000 acres, into the ultimate Caribbean destination. The development concept will allow the guest to experience Polynesia, Venice, Monaco, England the Caribbean and travel back in time, all from one fantastic island paradise. The Swan Islands will bring a new Utopia to the world where people can live, work and vacation in total security and harmony"
We say .... er, OK then!
