We listened closely to the weather report and faced another decision. Stay 'til after the next cold front or make a dash for it. We had already checked out of Honduras as our cruising permit had expired, so we deliberated all morning and finally decided to go for it. It wasn't the window we wanted because there was little wind and what little there was happened to be from the wrong direction.

Our friends on 'MACY' also decided to make a dash for it so it was nice to sail with company. Actually, we only sailed for 2 hours then we had to motor the rest of the way. It was a long, wet, black night as Kilifi rolled side to side. The phosphorescence (small plankton that glow when agitated) kept us captivated through the night as Kilifi cut through the waves. It looks like a whole galaxy of stars twinkling in our wake!

Distance sailed: 57 miles
