The water is an emerald green, and the island is clad in palm trees with very few houses. There is one tiny resort, Plantation Beach Resort, and they currently have no phone lines because of a lightening strike around two months ago.
We paddled ashore hoping to find the path leading to the lighthouse. We chatted with a local chap who said the path wasn't good and that there had been a murder on Saturday on that path! A man from the resort was killed for his belongings. Needless to say we decided not to go for the walk. The police are currently searching for this man.
So this kind of put a damper on things from then on. Murders go on everywhere but when itís on a little island in paradise it seems more surreal than in a seedy downtown area.
We are heading to Roatan early tomorrow morning.
