Life is never dull with our adopted family the Midences! We are getting shown the sights of the capital of Honduras – Tegucigalpa, which is so hilly it makes the streets of San Francisco look flat. Back at the cabin we have been helping Jack remove the old roof and put on a new one. However, just as we got the old roof off, the rainy season decided it would begin too! So we have spent the last two nights in a leaky cabin all huddled in the dry corner…and we thought living on a boat was damp!
The cabin is set back in a beautiful pine forest, there is no electricity and only cold running water. Logs heat the oven for cooking and at night we talk by candlelight. During the day there is a horse to ride, a dart gun to shoot, and new bugs to discover! (It feels like we are in the Boy Scouts and Brownies again!)
We first met Jack in the shipyard in La Ceiba last September. He certainly gave our spiritual heartstrings a tug and since then there have been so many people asking us about our new found faith that I wrote an article which can now be found on our homepage. See ‘Finding God’ if you are curious to know more.
We are traveling to La Ceiba today (Tues) and from there will fly to Cayman once our pemits are approved.
